"Let's build a Jungle Gym": About our project

We have been teaching English in Korea for the last two years (2008-2010). While here, we decided to start a small fund-raising project. The aim of our project is to collect enough money to build a jungle gym at a disadvantaged kindergarten in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

This will be part of the work done by "Kindi Projects" the community outreach and development programme of the Deutsche Schule Hermannsburg, lead by Stella Cockburn (Jessica's Mom).

The images below give some details on the general work done by "Kindi Projects".

We hope to raise at least R4000 which will cover the building costs. We would like to build the jungle gym ourselves, but will need to raise a bit of extra money (another R2000) to cover transport costs and to employ someone to help us with the heavy labour.

So Far, So Good:

Since we're raising money it would make sense to keep track of how much we've raised so far:

Our Goal: we would like to raise a minimum of R6000 = Won 930 000 or $825

This would cover our basic materials costs. If possible, we'd like to push that up to approximately R7000 which will help to cover transport costs and will allow us to employ someone to help us with the heavy labour.

Our aim is to have this project completed by the end of 2011.
